The award-winning Boğaziçi Jazz Choir will perform as part of the grape harvesting festival taking place in Bozcaada, Turkey's third biggest island in Çanakkale. Becoming one of the most popular choirs in Turkey after the group members performed the famous gospel tune "Joshua Fit the Battle of Jericho" out of the blue when they were on a metrobus in Istanbul, the a capella choir will be at Bozcaada Castle next week. Led by conductor Masis Aram Gözbek, the group was a part of the Boğaziçi University Music Club but was established as an independent group in 2011. Receiving many awards at international events similar to those held in the U.S., China, France and Italy, the choir represented Turkey at Polyfollia, the world's most prestigious choir festival last year. These young a capella musicians not only perform in different languages, but re-interpret well-known Turkish songs for audiences.
