A veteran artist of the hyperrealist movement, Mustafa Sekban will display his works under the theme "Yel Uçurur Ağları" (The Wind Blows Away the Nets) at Gallery İdil until June 6. In his paintings, the artist tries to emphasize the Bosporus in order to recall the old silhouette of Istanbul, a fishing city, and introduces its fishermen to the entire world. He paints the veteran fishermen of Istanbul on his canvases as well as dedicates the title of the exhibition to the fishermen. While he transfers every shade of the sea's color onto his canvas just like impressionist painters, Sekban also presents photorealist paintings with his own style and technique. Sometimes his works exceed hyperrealism and encourages their audience to examine them over and over again for days. The exhibition "The Wind Blows Away the Nets," which features Göksu Lake and fishermen-themed paintings as well as panoramic paintings of Istanbul invites all art lovers to this artistic festivity.
