Famous Italian singer to enchant an Istanbul audience


Italian artist Toto Cutugno will perform at Cemal Reşit Rey Concert Hall on May 28. According to the statement released by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality's Department of Cultural and Social Affairs, the artist will perform songs in Italian. Cutugno, who has sold millions of albums over the span of his 40-year musical career, won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1990. The 72-year-old artist's relationship with music began by learning to play trumpet and drums thanks to his father's encouragement. He gained international success with his song "Indian Summer," which he recorded with Joe Dassin in 1975, and when his song "Laissez Moe Danser," which he co-wrote with famous Italian singer Dalida, went platinum. The artist released his first album "Albatross" in 1976 and won critical acclaim for his songs "Serenata," "Donna Donna Mia," "Solo Noi," "Gli Amori," "Insieme: 1992" and "Le Mamme."
