American bassist and vocalist Kristin Korb will be in Istanbul as part of the Garanti Caz Yeşili (Garanti Jazz Green) program. "I didn't want a 'jazzy' notion to dictate the direction of the songs. I wanted the stories to guide the feel of the music," Korb said about her songs. Her musical influences are as varied as her life experiences. Some of Korb's albums like "Finding Home" and "58 Boxes" are evidence of her relocation and travel stories. Having moved from the U.S. to Denmark, Korb clearly expresses the challenges of learning a new language and the feeling of loneliness in a foreign country in her album "Invisible." Korb is known for her collaborations with Ray Brown, Jeff Hamilton and Bruce Forman. She will be accompanied by Magnus Hjorth on piano and Snorre Kirk on drums.
