Vocal jazz star Gregory Porter to meet Istanbul audience

Regarded as one of the most enchanting vocalists of the jazz world, Grammy winner Gregory Porter will perform for Istanbulites for the second time at Cemal Reşit Rey Concert Hall (CRR). Called the new king of jazz by certain music critics, Porter has been named among giant jazz figures such as Joe Williams, Nat King Cole and Marvin Gaye. Born in California, he began building up his music repertoire in the beginning of 2010. With his debut album "Water," he received his first Grammy nomination and his second studio album "Be Good" was nominated for a Grammy once again. His second album was also listed as among the best albums of 2012 both in the U.S. and the U.K. Finally in 2014 he took home the Grammy for Best Jazz Vocal Album with his album "Liquid Spirit."
