Since March 20, "Olanaksız Tutku" (Impossible Passion) has been showcasing the latest work of frequent traveler Ayline Olukman, which reflects various places around the world in her paintings. Attracting a great deal of attention in New York and Paris, the exhibition deals with the concept of nature rather than cultural background and urban spaces, the two common themes of Olukman's earlier solo shows. She specifically addresses being a woman and how a female body becomes free in nature and exists in harmony with it. The displayed works reject the practice of using a female body as a tool of commodification in cultural spaces. Olukman attempts to overcome the classification and interpretation of women through a masculine perspective. Adopting a poetic style instead of pure criticism, her work is highly optimistic. Born to a French mother and Turkish father, Olukman enjoys the advantage of describing her own visual world through a universal language.
