Figurative painting show at Kızıltoprak Art Gallery

Kızıltoprak Art Gallery exhibits the works of Mahir Güven, one of the iconic names of figurative painting in Turkey for more than 20 years. Güven generally depicts women in his works while avoiding unnecessary details through unique patterns and colors. He can successfully adapt repetition, but without falling into the trap of monotony. Born in 1958, he graduated from the Istanbul State Academy of Fine Arts, where he was the student of master figurative Turkish painter Neşet Günal. He was inspired by celebrated Turkish artists Hikmet Onat and Bedri Rahmi Eyüpoğlu during his secondary education. So far, Güven has opened 30 solo exhibitions and participated in several group exhibitions. He currently works in his Istanbul-based workshop. The event, which displays his latest 20 works, can be visited until Jan. 14.When: Until Wednesday Where: Kızıltoprak Art Gallery
