Veteran painter opens 35th solo exhibition


The artist's 35th solo exhibition will be open for visits until Jan. 20 at Antique Cisterna Art Gallery. Born in Zonguldak, Taneri was introduced to painting by painter Fuat Bey. In the following years, she took art lessons from Mustafa Esirkuş and Osman Zeki Oral respectively, and continued her art education at Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu Workshop at the Fine Arts Academy in 1972. The painter graduated from Marmara University Department of Fine Arts Education and received her master's degree from the Institute of Educational Sciences - Art Major in Painting at the same university. She has participated in over 15 group exhibitions in Turkey as well as abroad, and her works are featured in symposiums and biennials, and in the collections of museums, municipalities and banks. Being the recipient of different awards and prizes, the artist is a member of the Fine Arts Association, GESAM (Turkish Society of Fine Art Work Owners) and the International Plastic Arts Association. With her latest exhibition at the magical atmosphere of Cisterna Art Gallery, Taneri continues her "Women Stories. In "Golden Touches" - the hopes and sometimes overwhelming situations of women from Cybele to the present day find their place on the canvas.
