One of the biggest glass and art centers, the Glass Furnace, is offering different alternatives with its 2014 Summer Workshops Program. The historical journey of glass and ceramics, their transition from craft to art, their interaction and differences will be introduced through Ağatekin's "ceramic in glass technique" which has been developed by the artist since 2002 to discover different presentations of glass art. The artist has been developing his technique "ceramic in glass" since 2002. Moreover, this technique includes experimental and alternative presentations of ceramic on glass surfaces by using its own expressions. The Glass Furnace, where you can perform anything related to glass art, will be a source of inspiration for your work with its natural and green environment located alongside the Riva River. Apart from workshops, you can also cool off at the Glass Furnace's semi-Olympic pool, walk along the river, perform glassblowing and present your work to your loved ones as a gift.
When: Between Aug. 26 and Sept. 6
