Built in the green fields of Istanbul's Beykoz district, the Glass Furnace is offering special art courses on glass production with the help of a psychologist. Hosting the world's leading artists, the course teaches various glass techniques to Turkish participants and others from all over the world.
The weekend camp addresses those who want to explore their mental and emotional feelings using glass as a vehicle.
The course uses the metaphorical features of glass production with fire, which allows participants to discover subliminal images. At the end of the two-day workshop, you'll have learned how to look at your inner world while enjoying making hand-made glass. As art therapy, the course aims to discover personal problems through artistic materials. The production process enables participants to explain their feelings through nonverbal means. Expert trainers and psychologists interpret hand-made glass and give feedback.
Visitors also have the opportunity to observe the production of master artists or shop in the glass studio. The course does not require previous knowledge of glass production. The classes are limited with six participants allowed.
