ISTANBUL — The Fourth Eskişehir Opera and Ballet Days, organized by Eskişehir's General Directorate of State Opera and Ballet and the city's municipality, will be held from May 3 to 17.
Compiled by the French composer Georges Bizet, the classic opera piece "Carmen" will be featured at the opening ceremony in the Atatürk Culture, Art and Congress Center.The Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Symphony Orchestra will also accompany musicians in the Ankara State Opera and Balle for the performance.
"Bach Alla Turca" will be staged by the Samsun State Opera and Ballet on May 7 with Pianist Anjelika Akbar and percussionist Mehmet Akatay jazzing up the show.
Art lovers can watch Italian composer Puccini's unforgettable opera "Madam Butterfly" at the İzmir State Opera and Ballet on May 10.
The Antalya State Opera and Ballet will perform "Aspendos-Yüzyılların Aşkı" (Aspendos - The Love of Centuries) by young composer Hasan Niyazi Tura on May 14. The opera made its premiere last year for the 20th anniversary of the International Aspendos Opera and Ballet Festival. The Fourth Eskişehir Opera and Ballet Days will end with the Mersin State Opera and Ballet's performance of the operetta "Lüküs Hayat" (Luxury Life) on the evening of May 17.
