As of Wednesday night, the price of crude oil for Turkish vehicles that enter into Iranian territory has decreased from 1.60 euros to 0.30 euros. As of Feb. 1, 2015, no crude oil price difference will be requested from Turkish vehicles that cross Iranian borders. After the obstacles Turkish truck drivers faced in Iran for months, which even forced exporters to look for alternative ways to deliver their goods to Central Asia, Turkey and Iran finalized the agreement, and are now working on increasing bilateral trade to $30 billion. Turkish Development Minister Cevdet Yılmaz and Iranian Communication and Information Minister Mahmud Vaizi held a meeting on Tuesday at Ankara Palas. Yılmaz and Vaisi undersigned the minutes of the meeting, which focused on finding solutions to the problems caused by applying different crude oil prices to Turkish vehicles. Furthermore, all border gates will apply the first-come, first-served rule.
