Education in early childhood to be discussed in Istanbul


Organized by the Istanbul Volunteer Educators Association (İGEDER), the International Conference Early Childhood Education will take place from March 18 to March 20 at the Istanbul Haliç Congress Center.Supported by the National Education Ministry, the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, Istanbul University, Marmara University, Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University, Hasan Kalyoncu University and Palet Schools, the conference will welcome experts from Canada, the U.S., U.K., Belgium, Australia, South Korea, Malaysia and Pakistan who will give presentations about the most important period in children's education and look at humanitarian, national and original models of education. World-renowned American pre-school education specialist Robert Titzer will talk about his studies on language learning in early childhood while Guy Roberts-Holmes of the University of London will talk about children as "national investments." Canadian Professor Michael Ungar will share his expertise on children and family and Belgian Professor Ferre Laevers will offer insights into experiential education and the method approach in assessment and evaluation.As a part of the conference in Istanbul, Ferre Laevers and Julia Moons will also hold a workshop for participants. Australian Radhika Santhanam-Martin will share her studies on mental and neurological health in children as well as her practices and studies on refugees regarding the cultural elements. Hyunjin Kim of Rhode Island University will talk about the early childhood education practices in South Korea and Mümtaz Ahmad of the International Islam University in Pakistan will talk about the best educational examples practiced in his country. Leaflets brought from various provinces in Turkey will be shared with participants.
