The first remote-controlled toy car developed and manufactured entirely by a local Turkish company Moli Toys was unveiled at the 10th Kids Turkey exhibition in Istanbul Friday.

The General Manager of Spielwarenmesse Middle East Fuarcılık (Fair Organization) Fatih Ciğerlioğlu reported that 350,000 Turkish Liras were invested in the development of the first Turkish-made remote-controlled toy car.

The toy car is also reportedly to be launched in the Middle East and European markets, and afterwards might also be sold in the U.S.

"We are happy with the number of toy industry representatives attending our event," Cığerlıoğu said.

"The exhibition is being closely followed both inside and outside of the country. I believe the Turkish toy sector is moving confidently towards becoming an active player in its region," he added.

The exhibition held at the Istanbul Expo Center received great interest from adults as well as children, attracting the public's attention with various famous movie and cartoon characters, including Batman, Superman, Alien and Game of Thrones.

Organized by the Turkish subsidiary of trade fair organizer Spielwarenmesse, the Kids Turkey fair is a unique event for the Turkish toy market.

The fair will see participation from toy industry representatives from 35 different countries.

Spielwarenmesse is the largest international trade fair for toys and games held annually since 1949.
