Turkish men outperform women during holiday shopping

During the Bayram holiday, the male population in Turkey shopped 50 percent more than women, according to data revealed by the company that runs the mobile shopping application Hopi.

Hitting the news by hosting almost four million tourists, Bodrum topped the choice of holiday destinations, where the highest number of tour packages and tickets were bought. Bodrum was followed by Mersin, Altınoluk, Çeşme and Side, respectively.

Istanbul's white-collar Maslak neighborhood was ranked first in terms of tour/transportation expenditures during holidays, followed by Istanbul (Ataşehir), Ankara (Bahçelievler) and İzmir, respectively.

While T-shirts were the most-sold product in Trabzon, the most-wanted product in Diyarbakır was shoes. Among other cities, belts ranked first in Rize, while in Yozgat and Kırıkkale, shirts saw the highest demand. Socks were the most-wanted product in Ardahan, and trousers were the product most sold in Gümüşhane, Bingök and İğdır.
