Joint industrial zone to be built with Iran

As part of the Eastern Anatolia Project (DAP) Action Plan, trade relations will be further developed and improved with neighboring countries, particularly Iran. According to the DAP Action Plan prepared by the Development Ministry, land customs gates in the region will be modernized. To this end, the Customs and Trade Ministry will modernize Hakkari's Esendere border gate, Iğdır's Dilucu border gate and Van's Kapıköy border gate with a build-transfer-operate model between 2015 and 2018. Inactive land customs gates will also be reactivated. The action plan aims to develop trade relations with neighboring countries, especially Iran. As part of the initiative, a private-funded jointly-organized industrial zone will be established in the province of Doğubayazıt to be used by Iranian and Turkish industrialists.
