Economy minister travels to Brussels to discuss TTIP

Finance Minister Nihat Zeybekci, traveled to Brussels yesterday to hold talks with European Union officials. Today, Zeybekci will meet with the European Commissioner for Trade, Cecilia Malmström, the European Commissioner for Regional Policy, Johannes Hahn, and European Commissioner for Transport, Violeta Bulc. The main objectives of the visit are updating the customs union agreement, ensuring Turkey's involvement in the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP), and discussing possible alternative solutions for the highway quota issue. Zeybekci will also meet with the representatives of Turkish NGOs and politicians with a Turkish background who are actively involved in the European and Belgian parliaments.
