Turkish unemployment rate hit 10.5 percent in September, up 0.4 percent from the previous month, announced the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) on Monday.

This is the highest rate since February 2011, in which the unemployment was 10.7 percent.

The number of unemployed persons aged 15 years old and over reached 3 million 64 thousand persons in the period of September 2014. While youth unemployment rate, measured in the 15-24 age group, was 19.1 percent, unemployment rate for 15-64 age group was recorded at 10.7 percent.
