Turkey signed a letter of intent with Pratt & Whitney for the establishment of a final assembly line and maintenance and repair facilities in Turkey for the F-135 engines used in the advanced F-35 fighter jets
ISTANBUL — Turkish Defense Industry Under Secretary (SSM) İsmail Demir yesterday signed a letter of intent with Pratt &Whitney (P&W) for the establishment of a final assembly line and maintenance-repair facilities for F-135 engines of F-35 aircrafts. In the SSM statement, it was noted that the letter of intent will be a milestone in the long-term cooperation with the P&W after the necessary approvals are obtained from the U.S. government. It was further informed in the statement that the letter of intent displayed the commitment of Turkey to a Joint Attack Aircraft in addition to the trust of Pratt &Whitney in Turkey.
