European GDP rose in fourth quarter of 2013


Brussels - Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in euro area (EA17) and EU28 countries increased in the fourth quarter of 2013. GDP rose by 0.3 percent in the euro area and by 0.4 percent in the EU28 during the fourth quarter of 2013, compared with the previous quarter. During the third quarter, GDP increased by 0.1 percent in the euro area and 0.3 percent in EU28. The seasonally adjusted GDP rose by 0.5 percent in the euro area while increasing by 1.1 percent in the EU28 in the fourth quarter of 2013. In comparison, the United States' GDP grew by 0.8 percent compared with the previous quarter while it rose 2.7 percent compared with the same quarter of the previous year.
