Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev will soon sign a document lifting restrictions on Turkish food products, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Arkadiy Dvorkovich said Thursday.

Speaking at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), Dvorkovich revealed that the decree was ready and only awaited signing.

"Based on the decree signed by the president, the prime minister will sign a government decision. Maybe, he will sign it today. There are vegetables, except tomatoes, of course," Dvorkovich said.

Russian deputy prime minister also noted that Ministry of Agriculture is discussing a possibility of seasonal supplies of tomatoes from Turkey.

"The Ministry of Agriculture has just started discussing with them, there is still no clarity," Dvorkovich said, responding to a request to comment on Turkey's proposal for seasonal supplies of tomatoes.

Meanwhile, agriculture minister Aleksandr Tkachev said that restrictions on Turkish tomatoes would last for at least three years.

Turkey and Russia signed a joint declaration May 22 to remove trade restrictions between the two countries.

The agreement is viewed as an important step towards the normalization of economic relations and increasing trade volumes.
