Turkey signs military cooperation deal with Qatar

Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu on Thursday concluded a military deal with Qatar during an official two-day visit.

The deal involves a military agreement to deploy Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) to Qatar."We are thankful for Qatar's trust regarding this matter," PM Davutoğlu said, referring to the joint military base to be established in Qatar.He noted that Turkey and Qatar's relations have always been vibrant and dynamic, while he underscored that it is important for both countries to increase trade volume as soon as possible.

The measure was signed by Turkish Defense Minister Ismet Yılmaz and his Qatari counterpart Khalid bin Mohammad al-Attiyah with the presence of Davutoğlu and Qatari Interior Minister Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani.

Davutoğlu is also expected to visit the command post of Turkey's ground troops in Qatar later in the day.
