Boeing set to visit Turkey with a team of executives

Following British aero-engine manufacturer Rolls-Royce's visit to Turkey in order to take part in national fighter jet project last week, American multinational aircraft manufacturing company Boeing is planning to visit Turkey with a team of 20 high executives, suppliers and administrative staff.Boeing executives will hold talks with the members of Defense and Aviation Cluster Saha Istanbul which brings together defense and aviation firms under one roof. New collaborations are expected to be formed during the meetings also expected to launch the international competition development project with a total budget of $6 million with Saha Istanbul firms.Saha Istanbul Secretary General İlhami Keleş said bilateral talks will be held between the Boeing Company and possible suppliers, stressing that the efforts of Turkish firms to become a supplier to Boeing will also mean that the sector's ecosystem will improve for projects such as national commercial airplane and helicopter. Suggesting that domestic firms' efforts to manufacture the aircraft pieces imported by Turkish Airlines (THY) Technic for the aircraft maintenance are among the basic sources of motivation in this sector, Keleş noted that if you aim to manufacture your own aircraft, then the best way to prepare your firms is to take them into the same ring with world giants and let them wrestle.
