The questions I answered during an interview I gave to Deutschlandfunk last Monday are actually the ones I nowadays have to answer almost every day in the presence of both the EU and Germany.Since the European public is constantly misinformed, they probably believe in the unrealistic claims regarding the re-election to be held on Nov. 1, 2015; just like they believe in fabricated claims regarding the outlawed PKK.For instance, while no journalist refers to the Germany-based terrorist organization Red Army Faction (RAF), which was completely eradicated years before, as "the German RAF," they somehow show care to say "the Kurdish PKK" and not to refer to them as a "terrorist" organization. However, the PKK is a terrorist organization that is much more dangerous and assaultive than the RAF, which shook Germany and has never been forgotten or forgiven by the Germans. Thousands of people have been killed in Turkey due to the terrorist activities of the PKK. Particularly with the initiative of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the Justice and Development Party (AK Party) initiated dialogue at every level to end terrorism and as a result no terror-related casualties were reported for at least three years. However, the PKK exploited this three-year period with the aim of preparing for a restoration of the conflict instead of laying down their arms and contributing to the peace process. They eventually kicked off their violent terrorist attacks within this scope. Turkey is confronted with the reality of "the PKK terrorist organization," a reality that Europeans and especially German politicians and journalists do not or cannot see and which is repeatedly expressed in incorrect terms. Turkey has no other alternative than completely eradicating this terrorist organization.So, for this very reason, it is unthinkable for Turkey to remain without a government.The results of the general elections held on June 7, 2015 made forming a government impossible in Turkey.Currently, Turkey is going for early elections, not to found a government according to the wishes of the President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan as some European capitals, particularly Berlin, and media outlets indicate. The European media outlets or politicians spreading such baseless and inappropriate allegations are either malevolent or uninformed and even ignorant about Turkey. As opposed to the allegations that are often put forward, the AK Party offered a "reform coalition" to the Republican People's Party (CHP). The CHP, on the other hand, demanded a coalition model that previously brought great harm to Turkey and which only targeted to position the party members in ministerial seats and to assign some administrators into minister seats after the decades of failure the party has had. For the AK Party, a coalition government, which cannot make the urgently needed reforms, has no point. For instance, the CHP refused the offers of reconsidering the electoral law, decreasing the election threshold and making constitutional reforms. However, Turkey does not have the luxury of embarking on a coalition adventure in which CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who has never won an election so far, becomes a chair in his party again and the administrators in the party aspiring to be a minister would be assigned to high-ranking positions only because they got older. Even though the CHP fabricates some other lies in the presence of the EU, this is the reality lying behind the failure in forming an AK Party-CHP coalition government.Likewise, although the AK Party offered the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) to form either an "election government coalition" or "a four-year coalition model," the MHP refused these offers without even negotiating them.In other words, the AK Party did its fair share of work with regard to the coalition government possibilities including the AK Party.A coalition government did not stand the chance of being formed without the AK Party anyway. It was impossible for the CHP, the MHP and the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) to agree on a common coalition model. The MHP, which refused to be involved in any kind of cooperation with the pro-PKK HDP, started to announce that on the evening of the June 7 elections. Despite all efforts of the foreign forces that have a problem with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, (from Europe to Israel), their partners in Turkey could not form a coalition government opposing the AK Party. For this reason, President Erdoğan issued the decision to hold early elections as a requirement of his constitutional duties since Turkey has no other alternative.While fighting against both the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS) and the PKK, the country cannot have the luxury of remaining without a government. The only way is to hold the elections with an impartial election government as soon as possible and present the electorate a chance to determine it. Following the June 7 elections, the Turkish electorate has already seen who hampered the efforts to build a coalition government and witnessed the fact that especially the MHP and its chair Devlet Bahçeli only talked with regard to terrorism but did not perform their share of duty. Even worse, the electorate faced the fact that the HDP, for which many people voted to contribute to the permanent peace, ran a campaign based on lies and the party was actually a tactical component of the PKK's war strategy. The PKK's violent terrorist attacks and the HDP deputies supporting them greatly disappointed the ones voting for the HDP to contribute to peace.The AK Party electorate, who did not cast ballots or voted for another non-assertive party in order to punish the party for some reason, have already regretted their acts. They are aware of the fact that they are the cause of the time Turkey wasted in many spheres. Therefore, the public demands early elections in all the public surveys. So, the public opinion and perception operations that are being formed against the elections in Europe do not comply with the reality in Turkey.The ones fighting against terrorism, suffering from terrorism, or residing in the regions that are exposed to the PKK's violence; and workers, civil servants, farmers, tradesmen, shopkeepers, business people and all the other employees and employers who realized that the lack of a government caused great harm to the economic system that has been successfully maintained for 13 years, want elections as soon as possible and the formation of a government that would continue to realize Turkey's projects.President Erdoğan, who came to office by receiving 52 percent of the popular vote in the presidential elections held on Aug. 10, 2014, made the right decision by considering the re-election demands of the public and the urgent needs of Turkey as part of his responsibility.If our European friends and their back-packed "tourist" crew speak with our people on the streets and the shopkeepers in particular instead of only speaking with marginal groups, Gezi Park proponents, the CHP supporters who are alienated in Turkey and cannot go to many regions of Turkey, the pro-terrorist HDP supporters, and terrorist PKK members, they might have a grasp on Turkey. I believe they would do that if they were really friends of Turkey.
