The Mayan prophecy: Turkey, India and the new world order
The Mayan civilization has become a home for speculators looking for a "mystery" in the hollows of history, rather than a field of historians and anthropologists. Of course, however, this does not remove the striking traces of the Mayans that have made it to today in areas such as mathematics and astronomy. The "deepest" Mayan prophecy to date has been the speculation of the apocalypse on Dec. 21, 2012. As you know, the apocalypse did not occur in 2012, however, the years in the first quarter of the 21st century, including 2012, witnessed the collapse of all the paradigms built in the world since the Industrial Revolution, while 2012 and the following years have been an apocalypse for the world order that is dependent on the Industrial Revolution.
Australian scientific historian Gronemeyer says that Dec. 21, 2012 was not an end, but a beginning, and suggests that the 5,125-year cycle of the Mayan calendars in the texts of the Comalcalco tablets, which were found to date back to about 1,300 years ago, would end in 2012 and this year would be a new beginning and the "day of creation" for the Mayans. The word "cycle," as Gronemeyer mentioned, is important here.
This is also referred to as the "economic cycle" in economics literature. In fact, it is said that the Mayan calendar and the beginnings and ends (cycles) that are claimed to be on the calendar run in parallel to the prophecies of the famous soothsayer Nostradamus. Agnus Maddison, the British economic historian, starts his human history from 5,000 B.C. The development of mankind in Maddison's chart, which has all the major events in history, is quite modest up to the Industrial Revolution. However, following the Industrial Revolution, both the population and output grew rapidly, and technology further accelerated this growth. In other words, the world has entered a path that would lead to the Mayan's prophecy of an apocalypse at the beginning of the 21st century.
Therefore, we cannot say that the 5,125-year cycle of the Mayans is a "fabricated" metaphysical prophecy. According to two major economic historians and theorists, Andre Gunder Frank and Barry K. Gills, the beginning of today's world system emerged in Mesopotamia about 5,000 years ago. Frank and his colleagues argue that the motivation of capital accumulation, which includes capitalism, accelerates in capitalism and creates its own crises, and that this thinking goes back to 5,000 years ago - which they put forward as a serious theory of economic history. Already, Maddison's study, "The Word Economy," based on rich sources, reveals parallel, if not similar, evidence. My purpose here is to explain that we are in the middle of the "strategic" times that the Mayans tried to tell us on their Comalcalco tablets. I cannot say anything about whether the Mayan prophecy is scientific or not. However, the arguments by theorists such as Maddison, Frank and Gills must be taken seriously, even though they changed their theories significantly later. Let us bring together all these theories and prophecies like those of Nostradamus, and what is happening today. As a result, the world system that theoreticians like Frank said started in Mesopotamia 5,000 years ago is undergoing a major change in these territories.
The East is about to catch up with the West in two basic regions: One is Asia Pacific and the other is the vast Asian territory that starts from Turkey and reaches China, passing through Russia and the Caucasus in the north and Pakistan and India in the south. These two big regions are converging, taking Turkey as a center. Certainly, Latin America and Africa will be added to it, and a new period of peace and welfare in the world will emerge from here.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made a significant speech during his visit to India, saying that the poor East is catching up with the rich West, emphasizing that eastern and southern counties must have equal representation in all institutions, especially the United Nations, that lead the world. Erdoğan's statements in India, condemning Western colonialism and India's emergence under the leadership of philosophers and politicians like Mahatma Gandhi, give important clues about the new world order.
Erdoğan stated that the European and American-centric political and economic order that was established after World War II no longer meets the needs of humanity today. This is one of the most important political remarks of the 21st century and it is quite significant that it was made in India.
The new world order is being established by the recovery of the world's poor states. Surely, if this becomes successful, we will switch to a world of peace and welfare and the true and direct democracy of the people, delivering them from world of wars and poverty. As the Mayans said, this apocalypse is not for us, but for tyrants.
