Seven films debut in Turkish theaters this week


Logan: WolverineIn this latest film in the Wolverine series, Wolverine is shown as an old man taking care of Professor X. He works as a driver in western U.S. But, when a young mutant surfaces after many years, he risks everything, including his life, to take this young mutant to safety. The film chronicles the life of Erdoğan, in the political atmosphere of Turkey, starting in the 60s. Actor Reha Beyoğlu plays President Erdoğan in "Reis."Rosso Istanbul (Red Istanbul)Turkish-Italian director Ferzan Özpetek's much anticipated film "Rosso Istanbul" is a silver screen adaptation of the namesake novel by Özpetek. Starring Halit Ergenç, Tuba Büyüküstün, Mehmet Günsür, Nejat İşler, Serra Yılmaz, Zerrin Tekindor, Cemre Ebuzziya, Şerif Sezer and Reha Özcan, the film follows a young man who returns to Istanbul and the incidents following his return. "Rosso Istanbul" is Özpetek's first film in a while to be set in Turkey.Yağmurlarda Yıkansam (Wish I Wash up in the Rain)

Set in İzmir, "Yağmurlarda Yıkansam" focuses on violence against women. The film is about a young woman named Gamze who was murdered by her parents. Through the story of 15-year-old Gamze, the audience witnesses the anger, loneliness, despair and longing of an oppressed youth. Starring Derin İnce, Müge Ulusoy, Yeliz Tozan and Engin Benli, "Yağmurlarda Yıkansam," is directed by Gülten Taranç.It's Only the End of the WorldFrench director Xavier Dolan's latest film "It's Only the End of the World," follows a writer who discovers that he is terminally ill. He travels back to his hometown to see his family members for the first time in 12 years to say goodbye. However, each family member reacts to his visit differently. Adapted from the namesake 1990-play by Jean-Luc Lagarce, the film stars Vincent Cassel, Marion Cotillard, Nathalie Baye, Lea Seydoux and Gaspard Ulliel in the leading roles.Sweet HomeSpanish horror film "Sweet Home," starring Ingrid Garcia Jonsson, Bruno Sevilla, Luka Peros , Jose Maria Blanco and Mariona Perrier, is directed by Rafa Martinez. A young real estate agent, Alicia, goes to see an old house with her boyfriend. However, things go south as soon as she discovers that the house is more than it seems to be.The FounderDirected by John Lee Hancock, "The Founder," stars Michael Keaton as the lead character.
