Six new films debut in Turkish theaters this week


Tereddüt (Clair-Obscur)l Yeşim Ustaoğlu's award-wining film "Clair-Obscur," starring Funda Eryiğit, Ecem Uzun, Mehmet Kurtuluş and Okan Yalabık, follows two totally different women, who have more in common than they think. Şehnaz is a thirty-something woman, who works as a psychiatrist in a coastal village. She has a successful marriage with her husband Cem and visits his apartment in Istanbul every weekend. On the other hand, Elmas, who was brought to the village at the age 16 after being force to marry, has a very depressing life full of responsibilities. When the paths of Şehnaz and Elmas cross, they begin to face the problems in their lives and open new doors for the future.Sen Sağ Ben Selamet (Alive and Well)l Starring Ufuk Özkan, Burçin Bildik, Tuvana Türkay, Lale Başar, Hakan Karahan, Hasan Küçükçetin, Ayça İnci, Murat Kocacık and Müge Uzel, the Turkish comedy film "Sen Sağ Ben Selamet" is directed by Ersoy Güler. Selamet, who has only two days left in the prison, and his cell mate Sansar, who has a life sentence, are cut from the same cloth. While the prison bus sets off to transfer Sansar to another prison in Sivas, they decide to drop Selamet off in his village. However, things do not go as planned.Alemde 1 Gece (One Night Binge)Ozan and Elif are happily married. When Elif leaves the city for a couple of days, Ozan's childhood friend Tolga, and his friends Lena and Fehmi, come knocking on Ozan's door. While Ozan tries to send Tolga away, Fehmi suddenly drops dead. The adventure beings as the odd-band of friends try to get rid of the body. Directed by Barış Erdoğan, the Turkish comedy film "Alemde 1 Gece" stars Aydemir Akbaş, Ömer Gecü, Beyti Engin, Bülent Alkış ve Burcu Binici, Ceyda Olguner, Abidin Yerebakan, Ercan Demirel, Yılmaz Vural and Hayat Ece Mağat in the leading roles.Oldu mu Şimdi? (Is It OK?)Starring Yavuz Seçkin, Serkan Şengül and Seda Güven, another Turkish comedy film for this week, is directed by Kenan Öztürk. The film recounts the unfortunate and funny things that happen to a man who was sentenced to prison due to a series of misunderstandings.ZuzulaKemal Özdemir's "Zuzula" follows a writer whose life changes after he sees supernatural events in the mountain house that he visits for inspiration. This thriller film of the week stars Canan Ünal, İnanç Akbulut, Fatih Selim Emek, Tuğba Şakar and Seçil Koçak in the leading roles.MastermindsA guard at an armored car company in the Southern U.S. organizes one of the biggest bank heists in American history. Based on a true event that took place in 1997, the film follows the robbers after they manage to steal $17.3 million. Starring Zach Galifianakis, Owen Wilson, Kristen Wiig, Jason Sudeikis, Ken Marino, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones, the American comedy is directed by Jared Hess.
