!f Independent Film Fest announces films program
The program of the 15th Istanbul Independent Film Festival continues to be revealed bit by bit. This year's festival will offer a big surprise to moviegoers: The new film of Italian director Luca Guadagnino, who made a name for himself with the most controversial film of 2000, "Melissa P." and modern classic of our times, "I am Love," will be screened as a part of the festival. Inspired by the 1969 film "La Piscine" starring Alain Delon, Romy Schneider, Maurice Ronet and Jane Birkin, Guadagnino's "A Bigger Splash," focuses on a love story involving four people. The film recounts the story of rock legend Mary and her boyfriend Paul. As their relationship began to be monotonous, they decide to invite Mary's former boyfriend and his daughter to their relationship during their trip to Italy. "A Bigger Splash" successfully keeps the tension alive with a complicated relationship filled with jealousy, romanticism and lust. "The Bigger Splash," which is described as "A sneaky, witty and unpredictable thriller film," also stands out with its cast: Guadagnino's favorite actress Tilda Swinton, Ralph Fiennes, Matthias Schoenaerts and Dakota Johnson amaze the audience with their chemistry. Organized with the partnership of İş Bank Maximum Card and Mars Cinema Group, the 15th İstanbul Independent Film Festival will take place Feb. 18-28 in Istanbul and March 3-6 in Ankara.
