MADO partners up with Bahraini bank, Qatari firm

Bahrain-based Venture Capital Bank (VCBANK) and Qatar-based Al Sraiya Holding have signed a strategic partnership deal on Tuesday with Turkey's largest patisserie and ice-cream franchise MADO, paving the way for the company to expand its businesses in Middle Eastern countries.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Veysi Kaynak stressed the importance of the agreement for Turkey, in the time of worldwide economic downturn. He hoped this partnership between two important dynamic entities would prove valuable in terms of their goals to open up to the world.

The deputy prime minister said he was pleased to stand by the Kambur family, who created a global brand from Turkey's Maraş.

Saying a great deal of responsibility was assumed through the strategic agreement, Kaynak urged both sides to put greater effort, move on with their new goals and run on innovation. He pointed out how MADO companies have never needed money, and their priority has always been to introduce and offer new products to their customers.

Kaynak saying the world balance had turned upside down, underlined that it was valuable for a Turkish company to be part of such an agreement at this period.

Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) head Rifat Hisarciklioğlu was also present at the signing ceremony. He said those who invest in Turkey never lose, and noted that this strategic agreement was proof that investors have not given up on Turkey.

According to Hisarciklioğlu, a foreign investor's involvement in such a strategic partnership with a Turkish company, in this difficult time of world economy, shows their confidence in Turkey and by combining a Turkish entrepreneur's courage with the power of Arab capital was very logical.

The TOBB president hoped Turkey will continue to grow in the field of economy and will successfully overcome this troublesome period. He said those who invest in Turkey never lose.

As a Turkish ice cream brand, Mado holds over 250 branches of cafes and restaurants all over the world. The company, which was founded in 1850, has branches in Australia, Dubai, Beirut, Hong Kong, South Korea, Cyprus, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Azerbaijan and Iraq.
