PM Binali Yıldırım to visit Russia


Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım is paying a critical visit to Russia. Following last year's airplane crisis, Turkey's ties with Russia were frozen for 9 months. After Presidet Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's visit in August, the prime minister will make the first diplomatic visit to Russia and meet his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev.The agenda of the meeting will include the strengthening of military and intelligence cooperation in the region, particularly in Russia, removal of visa requirements, joint projects for energy collaboration, agricultural produce banned from export and attracting Russian tourists to Turkey.Yıldırım, who will leave for Russia tonight, will be accompanied by a large of group of businesspeople. The prime minister will be welcomed by Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev on Tuesday and will hold one-to-one and delegation meetings. It is reported that Yıldırım will also meet Russian President Vladimir Putin but the agenda has not been disclosed yet. After concluding his meetings in Russia, the prime minister will visit Tatarstan's capital Kazan.
