Kuwait has been planning to sign a deal worth $1 billion for road construction and infrastructural projects with Turkish construction giant Limak İnşaat and Italian Salini Impregilo within the next two weeks.Naser Khraibut, the planning professional of Kuwait's state institution in charge of the shelter, made an announcement during a press conference in Dubai, stating that the deal will include road construction and other infrastructural work for the South Al-Mutlaa City Development Project. Khraibut said that the project includes many packages regarding the construction of hundreds of shopping centers, more than 120 schools, mosques, police stations and health clinics. Meanwhile, the city of South Al-Mutlaa is the first of five major cities to be placed on the Kuwaiti government's agenda.Salini Impregilo, the Italian company involved in the project, is an industrial group specializing in construction and civil engineering headquartered in Milan. The company Limak, which has construction projects in many countries, is also involved in the construction of Istanbul's third airport,which is projected to be completed by 2018 in a joint venture of the Turkish companies Cengiz, Kolin, Limak, Mapa and Kalyon Consortium.
