BIST 100 ushers in highest real profit rate in April


Maximum monthly real profit rate was realized on the Borsa Istanbul stock exchange's BIST 100 index, yielding the highest monthly real profit on the Domestic Producer Price Index (D-PPI) with 5.19 percent and the Consumer Price Index (CPI) with 4.92 percent in April, according to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) Monday.When discounted by D-PPI, the monthly real profit rate of the Government Domestic Debt Instruments (GDDI) was 2.53 percent. However, investors in gold (ingot), dollar, euro and deposit interest lost 2.41 percent, 2.32 percent, 0.30 percent and 0.12 percent, respectively. According to the CPI, the monthly real profit rate of investors of GDDI was 2.26 percent, while investors of gold (ingot), dollar, euro and deposit interest lost by 2.66 percent, 2.57 percent, 0.56 percent and 0.38 percent, respectively.The stock exchange made the highest real quarterly profit with 17.95 percent, according to the D-PPI and CPI. In the same period, investors in the dollar lost 6.50 percent, according to the D-PPI and CPI. The GDDI made the highest real profit with 8.90 percent according to the D-PPI, and 4.75 percent according to the CPI, biannually. In the same period, investors in the dollar experienced the highest loss with 2.66 percent according to the D-PPI and 6.38 percent according to the CPI. On the other hand, the maximum annual real profit was created by euro investors. The annual real profit rates of the euro were 9.15 percent according to the D-PPI and 5.36 percent according to the CPI; however, in the same period, Borsa Istanbul investors marked the highest loss with 1.25 percent according to the D-PPI and 4.68 percent according to the CPI.
