Due to Beşiktaş's good performance in the Spor Toto Super League, the share certificates of Beşiktaş Futbol Yatırımları A.Ş. (BJKAS) traded on the Borsa Istanbul stock exchange are on the rise. The share certificates rose approximately 6 percent on Monday after last weekend's 4-0 victory of Beşiktaş against Gaziantepspor in the 20th week of the league. The share certificates increased 5.83 percent to TL 3.63 ($1.23) - the second-highest level since 2011 when it was TL 3.70.
This was Beşiktaş's fifth win and the difference between Beşiktaş and league leader Fenerbahçe (FENER), which missed two games, dropped to two points. After this win, the rising trend continued, and shares rose to around the TL 3.60 mark. Moreover, Beşiktaş's shares have brought in 68 percent more for its investors than at the end of 2015.
In the meantime, after Fenerbahçe lost 4-2 to Antalyaspor over the weekend, FENER share certificates dropped 5.2 percent. While Galatasaray's (GSRAY) share certificates traded on the Borsa Istanbul are stable, investors lost around 4 percent when compared to the end of 2015. While Trabzonspor's (TSPOR) shares decreased 3.4 percent on Monday when compared to the end of 2015, the shares rose 12 percent as of the end of last year. Since last Friday, Beşiktaş's total market value increased TL 50 million to TL 873 million, and the increase in value exceeded TL 350 million when compared to the end of 2015. Fenerbahçe has the highest market value among Turkish football teams with TL 1.17 billion, while Galatasaray's market value is TL 368 million and Trabzonspor's value is TL 143 million.
