Turkish Airlines (THY) has signed a long-term business deal with the U.S.-based aviation giant Boeing at the Boeing Customer Experience Center in Seattle, Washington, which aims to develop Turkey's aviation and space technology, while expanding Boeing's investment in Turkey. The agreement was signed by THY Chairman İlker Aycı, together with Boeing's CEO Ray Conner.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Aycı noted that THY has achieved impressive growth with its fleet, products and investments and that, with this partnership with Boeing - a leading name in the aviation industry - the airline will see even further expansion. He added that THY will strive to develop innovative methods for developing its airline industry.
CEO Connor noted that they are proud of the improving relations with THY, and that the two companies will complement each other and work together to improve, develop and implement fruitful business deals.
Before the signing ceremony, Boeing Turkey's General Manager Ayşem Sargın Işıl gave a presentation to journalists, noting that Boeing has a long history in Turkey and that THY and Boeing are currently working on projects to meet the demand for qualified employees in the aviation sector; stating that to this end, more investments will be made.
