Turkish Airlines (THY) will offer a 50 percent discount on flights for soldiers and police officers during Qurban Bayramı (Feast of Sacrifice), also known as Eid al-Adha. A statement released by THY's press department said police officers working within the body of the General Directorate of Security, and commissioned officers, noncommissioned officers, specialist sergeants, specialist corporals and contractual soldiers recruited within the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) and the Gendarmerie General Command, as well as their spouses and children, can benefit from the discount on either direct and indirect flights between Sept. 17 and Oct. 4. The discount will be applied to both business and economy class tickets. They need to show military identity cards or discharge certificates obtained in the last 15 days when purchasing tickets. The discounted tickets can be bought at THY sales offices by Oct. 4. The discount will be valid on all THY domestic flights as well as its subsidiary, Anadolu Jet, and will include flights to Nicosia. It will not count for codeshare flights.
