Qatar wants to produce its food in Turkey

Qatar is taking action to overcome its food shortage problem by requesting the right to produce in Turkey. Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said: "Qatar wants to rent land and generate produce in cooperation with Turkish companies. They also want to develop projects in other fields, too." Attending the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters golf tournament, Çavuşoğlu held official talks with Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser al-Thani and his Minister of Foreign Affairs Khalid bin Mohammad al-Attiyah. Çavuşoğlu said that Qatari officials told him they would like to meet their food and livestock needs by leasing land in different regions of Turkey. After the official talks, Çavuşoğlu answered questions in a reception held in the Turkish Embassy in Doha and said that they discussed potential cooperation opportunities between the two countries.
