DemirDöküm prepares for European market

Developing savings measures due to the economic crisis, Europe is preparing a draft law to switch to condensing combi boilers across the continent. DemirDöküm owned by German giant Vaillant is one of the companies completing their preparations to get into the European market. Vaillant Group Turkey CEO Dr. Axel Busch said that "The law requiring to use the condensing combi will go into effect in Europe and European countries will have to switch from the normal combi to the condensing combi, which will create a huge market in Europe. As Vaillant, we prepared high-technology products with minimum cost for our customers in Europe." Busch stated that the DemirDöküm factory in Bozüyük, Eskişehir is the largest one of the group and they are making investments in this factory to prepare it for future operations. Saying that a similar law will go into effect in Turkey following Europe, Busch noted, "We expect a drastic demand increase considering all these developments. Therefore, we established Turkey's 140th R&D center in 2013. We invested more than TL10 million in this field in 2014 and we are also planning to invest TL11 million in 2015. We prepared the necessary infrastructure to meet all demands with replacement and new product development investments." Stating that they are aiming to grow and their priority is the domestic market, Busch added that "80 percent of our operations consist of the domestic market. The construction sector in Turkey is very dynamic and it constitutes a big part of our business. Replacement is a huge necessity in Turkey since natural gas has been used for years in Turkey, which opens a new market. All these developments show that the combi market in Turkey will be active for 20-25 years."
