TOBB seeks Turkey’s fastest growing firms

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) is gearing up to bring together 100 of Turkey's fastest-growing companies with some of the world's fastest-growing companies. TOBB aims to help successful Turkish companies gain international recognition and assist them in consolidating their global and economic connections through "Turkey 100," a contest organized with the cooperation of TOBB, the U.S.-based AllWorld Network and the Economic Policy Research Foundation of Turkey (TEPAV). The companies that are eligible to enter the list will also be entitled to participate in Harvard's Entrepreneurship Summit held annually by Harvard University. They will also have the opportunity to come together with winners of similar contests organized by AllWorld Networks across the world. The competition is also intending to hand down these 100 companies' success stories to the rising generations with the aim of encouraging them to become entrepreneurs. Emphasizing the significance of the project, TOBB's head Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu said entrepreneurship is the key for us to become one of the largest economies of the world by 2023. "We have thousands of innovative entrepreneurs, who seize true opportunities and provide employment. This competition is a great opportunity for flourishing Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises [SMEs]." This is the second "Turkey 100" competition to draw the world's attention to the best-performing Turkish companies. The winners of the contest will have the opportunity to enter into global partnerships and gain international recognition. Applications can be made via the website, http://turkiye100.tobb.org.tr/ until Dec. 1, 2014.
