Gülenist Bank Asya shares suffer in stock market

After an almost two month suspension period, Bank Asya shares re-opened to trading on Turkey's stock market (BIST)'s board in the first session of the day.As expected, during the very first hours of the session the bank's shares lost in value by 11.3 percent. In case of a continuous depreciation in bank's shares and further deterioration bank's balance sheet, experts believe that Saving Deposit Insurance Fund – the governing body concerned with matters of fund management and insurance in the Turkish banking system- can seize the control of the bank to prevent greater crisis in Turkish banking sector.
