In 2010 the central administration budget expenditures were 293 billion 628 million liras, budget revenue was 254 billion 28 million liras, and the budget deficit was 39 billion 600 million liras.
Minister of Finance Mehmet Şimşek has announced that the 2010 budget deficit is at 39.6 billion TL, which is a 25 percent drop in comparison to 2009 figures.
Releasing the budget results for 2010, Minister of Finance Mehmet Şimşek states, "The 2010 budget showed a much better performance than our target and revised target predicted. We are at a better point than our target."
Şimşek's announced figures for 2010 budget results are as follows:
* The 2010 annual budget revenue was at 254.3 billion TL, while budget expenditures reached 293.6 billion TL.
* The 2010 annual budget deficit was realized at 39.6 billion TL, a 25 percent drop from 2009.
* The 2010 budget expenditures minus interest were 245.3 billion TL, while tax revenue was realized at 210.5 billion TL.
