Automotive production increases by 37 percent in January

Turkey's automotive production increased by 37 percent and reached 102,574 in January 2015. Its performance was named as the best January performance in the last seven years.
According to data released by Automotive Manufacturers Association, the increase was led by commercial vehicles, whose production increased by 83 percent and reached 42,160 vehicles. Automobile production also increased by 37 percent and reached 60,414.
Total automotive exports numbered 79,288, a 54 percent increase, of which 48,533 percent were automobiles, a 35 percent increase. Growth rate in Turkey's automotive market was seven percent in January with 36,567 cars sold. Imported light commercial vehicles held 43 percent of the market share, while imported vehicles formed 70 percent of the Turkish market.
