Artist and academic Professor Veysel Günay has presented his figurative painting works on which he reflected his half a century-old experience, nature and landscape themes to the interest of art lovers at Gallery Aydın.

Maintaining his paintings continuously since he was a student, Günay sees his subjects as a natural part of life. His environment, nature and landscape were always his subjects. The artist expressed, "I turn the motifs that express my thoughts and feelings around me into painting forms."

Believing that painting is an act of creating a language and atmosphere, the artist thinks art can be learned from art and artists despite environmental factors. For this reason, he sees himself as the heir of all artistic and cultural values created by humankind. However, he is primarily the heir of his country and his geography. Günay, who gives particular importance to personal technique and mastership while being sincere and simple in his works, which are the sequels of classical paintings instead of being adaptations of artistic trends, believes that painting will be completed when daylight reaches the canvas.

The solo exhibition of Prof. Veysel Günay can be visited until Dec. 14.

Veysel Günay was born in the Beşikdüzü Ağaçlı village in Trabzon province in 1948. Günay finished Gazi Education Institute in 1969 and completed his specialized studies at the Paris Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux Arts and the Louvre Museum. He worked as an academic at Gazi Education Institute and Hacettepe University Fine Arts Faculty. He was the dean of Beykent University Fine Arts Faculty. "Whole World in a Paper - Veysel Günay," written by İbrahim Çiftçioğlu, and "Veysel Günay - Landscape of Depth," written by Zekiye Sarıkartal are the two books published under his name.
