Pera education turns children's dream world into colorful 'Summer' exhibit


The Pera Museum will meet the creative world of children and teenagers attending summer workshops this year, inspired by the "Doublethink: Double Perspective" and "Jose Sancho's works in the exhibit titled, "Summer, Summer, Summer." The exhibition that includes the works of workshop participants between the ages of four and 17 will enliven the Pera Education Workshop between Aug. 1 and Sept. 17.

The Pera Museum presents works that have been created in various, entertaining workshops by children and teenagers in the exhibit from July 4 to July 16. The works of the exhibit inspired by the "Doublethink: Double Perspective" and "Jose Sancho" exhibitions, focus especially on the themes of nature and literature.

The "Summer, Summer, Summer" exhibition by Pera Education includes designs colored with crayons, ink and finger paint and 3D animal and aquarium designs made with paper plates and "magic plastic" that is produced in the workshops for children between the ages of four and six. The pieces of the workshops for the ones between the ages of seven and 12 includes fish forms made by shaping string and wind-bells created with crown caps and watches, cards, comic books and book cover designs made of different materials. The big text made by the printing of letters on papers in the workshops that are formed by artist Hera Büyüktaşçıyan within the summer workshops concept are for students between the ages of 13 and 17 and are also featured among the prominent works of the exhibition.

The Pera Education Workshop exhibit is open to visit for free until Sept. 17.

Training at the Pera Museum brings children, teenagers and adults together with art, creating museum awareness and making art possible, forging a connection between the audience and the works on display. While there are evaluations made about the works, creativity is also supported in these events based on feedback and creativity. The training program aims to make the museum a part of daily life. In line with this aim, Pera Education programs are being maintained through creative, entertaining events prepared by people from different age groups and those with physical disabilities, complete with a collection of exhibits along with periodic exhibitions.
