On the eve of International Women's Day, TRT World, Turkey's first English news channel, will telecast a special program on female war correspondents.
War reporting is a very difficult job and can be even more demanding for female war correspondents, reporting from perilous combat zones.
TRT World will bring together five experienced female war correspondents to share their stories, in a 30-minute program titled, "Women on War-Reporting from the Frontline." The program will follow a roundtable format and will be moderated by Stavroula Logothettis.
Zeina Awad and Nicole Johnston from TRT World, independent journalist and former Al Jazeera reporter Sue Turton, Arwa Damon from CNN and Al Monitor's Shelly Kittleson will join Logothettis.
The guests will share their views and experience from the frontline. They will also discuss issues like, "Does gender affect the ability to access news?" "How are female field journalists are treated?" and "What are the personal expenses of a journalist in a war zone?"
The show will be broadcasted live on TRT World and on its website.
