Discover the world through the lens of Iran's female photographers


CerModern, a popular arts center in capital Ankara is showcasing the works of 26 female Iranian photographers in an exhibition until Jan. 26.The exhibition titled, "26 Photographers," was compiled and curated by photographers Amir Hossain Heshmati and Elnaz Kasemi.Composed of 165 works by different generations of female Iranian photographers from different social circles and backgrounds, the exhibition is being co-organized with Iran-based "Tehran Shirin Art Gallery."Apart from giving an opportunity to see the world through the lens of Iranian women, the exhibition aims to display the different and original artistic diverse expressions of women of different ages.Exhibition curator Heshmati, who is also an established international photographer of Iranian origin, said, "Ultimately, it is unfair to look at the concept of photography [pure photography] from one aspect. Perhaps, we need to see and hear the opinions of others to put together a multi-part puzzle and expand our world. What we have in our hands is one of the small pieces of that puzzle."The artists featured at CerModern's "26 Photographers" include, Mehrva Arvin, Abnous Alborzi, Ghogha Bayat, Maryam Takhtkeshian, Baran Jafari, Somayeh Jafari, Rana Javadi, Zahra Khorami, Gohar Dashti, Maryam Rahmanian, Helia Rezaee, Kamand Razavi, Kimia Rahgozar, Azita Semnak, Maryam Saeedpour, Nazli Abbaspour, Naghmeh Ghassemlou, Shadi Ghadirian, Katayoun Karami, Hengameh Golestan, Nasim Goli, Yalda Moayeri, Tahmineh Monzavi, Hana Mirjanian, Mahshid Noushirvani and Hamila Vakili.
