Antik A.Ş. to put 200 paintings up for auction


Antik A.Ş., an Istanbul-based auction house, is set to hold an auction in the city's Antik Palace on Dec. 10 where some of the most noteworthy paintings completed between 1880 and 1980 will be put on sale.The auction will display a fine selection of Turkish paintings including French painter Felix Ziem's oil painting "Istanbul," worth at least TL 375,000 ($1,285,425).Additionally, five more paintings from different eras including paintings on still life and forest themes by Süleyman Seyyid, one of the first generation artists of Turkish paintings, landscape based paintings by Hoca Ali Rıza, Istanbul-themed works by Halil Pasha and Nazmi Ziya's painting "Koç Kahvesi" will be featured at the auction for the first time.İbrahim Çallı's paintings "Manolyalar" (Magnolias), "Kapalı Çarşı" (The Grand Bazaar) and "Topkapı" as well as paintings by Hikmet Onat, Şevket Dağ, Mahmud Cüda, Hale Asaf, Hamit Görele, Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu, Cevat Dereli, Ali Çelebi, Orhan Peker, Cihat Burak, Mustafa Esirkuş, Nuri İyem, Fausto Zonaro and Prieur Bardin will also be waiting for their new owners at the auction.The auction will also feature works by important calligraphists like Kazasker Mustafa İzzet, Hasan Rıza and Hamid Aytaç. A total of 200 paintings are expected to be auctioned off at the program.
