Symposium on Sultan Abdülhamid II to be held in Istanbul


"Sultan Abdülhamid II and His Reign on His 174th Birthday International Symposium" is scheduled to take place on Sept. 22 at DolmabahçePalace in Istanbul. As a part of the symposium hosted by Parliament, there will be various sessions, including "Caliphate, Islamic Unity and Palestine," "The Middle East and Sultan Abdülhamid II," "Abdülhamid II and Opposition," "Education, Press, Aer and Sultan Abdülhamid II," "The Reign of Sultan Abdülhamid II from the View of the Arabs, "The Management Style of Sultan Abdülhamid II and the Yıldız Archives" and "Military, Rebellion and Assassination." The exhibition titled "Sultan Abdülhamid II and the Traces of His Reign" will open its doors at the Dolmabahçe Palace Celebration Chamber. The documentary titled "Sultan Abdülhamid II and His Reign" will be screened at Yıldız Şale Mansion Celebration Hall. On the second day of the symposium, the photography exhibition "Sultan Abdülhamid II and His Reign" will be opened for visitors at the Cemal Reşit Rey Concert Hall. Moreover, the concert hall will host the Ottoman Period Anthems Concert Series. The symposium, which will also host the reopening of the newly renovated Maslak Pavilion, will end on Sept. 25.
