Antalya Culture, Art and Education is hosting a series of summer workshops under the title of "Andy Warhol: Pop Art for Everybody," which will take place between July 19 and July 31. The workshops will center on pop art, however, the participants will use different materials and techniques for each workshop. The organization, which is geared toward different age groups, aims to create a communication between participants as well as artistic techniques.
The Pop Portrait Workshop, which is inspired by Warhol's colorful portraits, is geared toward children. They will cut small pieces from magazines and newspapers and will create their own portraits with their own drawings and collages. In the Pop Flowers Workshop, children will create pop collages inspired by the flower paintings displayed at the exhibition held at the institution. The Endangered Animal Species Workshop aims to draw attention to the endangered species and raise awareness among children.
The children will shape models of endangered animals with play dough and paint them according to their likings. The participants of the Flower Print Workshop will work with linoleum print and create their own artworks inspired by Warhol's printing paintings. During the Imaginary Designs Workshops, children will study popular culture elements and design their own pop art artworks. At the end of the workshop, they will also design packaging and labels for their own art pieces. The participants of the Warhol on Cloth Bag Workshop are expected to practice their own drawings on cloth bags by getting inspiration from Warhol's printing paintings.
