The Barbican Center's exhibition "Digital Revolution" is visiting Istanbul following displays in London, Stockholm and Athens. Held at the Zorlu Performance Arts Center (PSM), the exhibition will be on display until June 12. To introduce the exhibition and its unique features to the public, the organizers of the "Digital Revolution" held a press conference.Zorlu PSM General Manager Murat Abbas underscored that Zorlu PSM has become a hub for Turkey's culture and arts scene where the audience can see artworks belonging to any genre, as well as contributions to the public's art and entertainment needs. Abbas said that the world is in constant transition and there is now a digital world surrounding us today. He said that the increasing demand in digital art in recent years puts the genre in a very special place. "We are happy to bring the 'Digital Revolution' to Istanbul following the display of the exhibition in the major cities of Europe with the support of the Barbican Center. Art lovers will witness the evolution of the digital revolution and the creation of digital artworks throughout the four months," Abbas said.Zorlu Holding executive Ömer Yüngül, on the other hand, expressed his belief that the exhibition will inspire people who realize their dreams by using innovative thinking, technology and design. He said that they will continue to support the innovative and underdog genres of art as Zorlu Holding and Zorlu PSM. "Our most important strength is our imagination and the confidence we have in realizing our dreams. Bringing the Barbican Center's 'Digital Revolution' after the display in other European cities is the reflection of our perspective towards digital art." During the press conference, a video of Barbican Center's International Representative Neil McConnon was screened for the press. Commenting on the exhibition after touring the exhibition venue in Zorlu PSM, McConnon said that the "Digital Revolution" is an inspiring exhibition for an audience that is in search of new realities and wants to re-define the concept of what is real. "Although the digital world is a very new concept, we had the chance to work with the most popular figures of that world in this exhibition. Moreover, we are very happy to work with Zorlu PSM, which has a visionary art gallery with the technological infrastructure they have, for the Turkish leg of the exhibition.""Digital Revolution," which can be seen in Zorlu PSM's new exhibition venue Sky Lounge, features works blending technology and art by filmmakers, architects, designers, musicians and computer game developers. Curated by the Barbican Center, the exhibition also features works by Academy Award winner Paul Franklin, who is the visual effects designer for the music video director of musician and entrepreneur will.i.am and Björk, as well as working on Christopher Nolan's "Inception," and Chris Milk, who is the music video director for the Chemical Brothers, U2 and Kanye West. In addition to those outstanding names, new artworks by Umbrellium (Usman Haque and Nitipak Samsen), Universal Everything, Yuri Suzuki, Pasha Shapiro and Ernst Weber are on display at the exhibition.
