Four different themes addressed at photography museum

The Istanbul Photography Museum, founded in collaboration with the Fatih District Municipality and the Association of Photograph Lovers, is exhibiting the works of famous photographers including Şemsi Güner, Ozan Sağdıç and Croatian artist Stanko Abadzic in four separate exhibitions this month. The exhibitions are "Retrospektif" (Retrospective) and "Artvin'de Boğa Güreşleri" (Bull Fights in Artvin) by Şemsi Güner; "Önce Radyo Vardı" (There was radio at first) by Ozan Sağdıç; and "Seçki" (Selection) by Stanko Abadzic. The Istanbul Photography Museum was established to enrich urban culture and promote the arts. Mayor Mustafa Demir said that the museum has opened its arts season. Introducing audiences to works from Turkish and international artists, the museum will host these exhibitions until the end of this year.

Güner's exhibition features 111 photos chosen from his archive. The exhibition displays some of his photos that have never been displayed before. His second exhibition is centered on the theme of bullfights in the northeastern Artvin province and will be shown for the first time. Güner died in 2010. Senior photographer Ozan Sağdıç's exhibition was previously on display for five days last May due to the initiative of Turkey's state-run broadcaster Turkish Radio and Television Institution (TRT). Seen as one of the most prominent representatives of photography art in the Balkans, Abadzic is expected to attract great interest. His exhibition is curated by Timurtaş Onan. Abadzic's works are shown in many galleries and collections in European and American museums.
